Common Decline Codes
 
 

Here are some of the more common decline codes and how to address them.

 

 
 
Response Code Terminal Response Action to Take
1 Call Center Call for voice Authorization.
2 Call Center 02 Call for voice Authorization.
4 Hold - Call 04 Retain the card and call voice authorization for more information.
5 Decline 05 Do Not Honor. You can call voice authroization for more information.
6 Decline AVS Error.  There was an issue with some AVS information not macthing.
41 Hold - Call 41 Lost card, pick up.  Call the issuing bank of the card for more information.
43 Hold - Call 43 Stolen card, pick up.  Call the issuing bank of the card for more information.
51 Declined 51 Insufficient Funds
